growing sectionalism

summary:
first, students wrote new questions for the 'big box of questions' based on yesterday's lesson, and then we picked up where we left off yesterday by discussing sectionalism - support for the interests of one's region - and how it grew over time. we did this by creating and discussing an annotated timeline of major events in the growth & expansion of slavery in the united states. 

homework:
none. i've decided to postpone tomorrow's quiz. we'll do some structured review activities in class tomorrow.
