reader's theater, part 2

i asked students to answer the guiding question "how did henry ward beecher advocate for the abolition of african enslavement?". students wrote their answers, and we shared, with a focus on completeness - there were at least 6 different things that could and should be listed in response to this question. next, we revisited the criteria for the readers' theater skits, and students rehearsed and finished up their scripts. then, students presented, and the audience made notes. we tried to use those notes to figure out what students learned from the skits, but it didn't work very well. i'll do some reteaching / reviewing tomorrow.
