how kansas started bleeding

summary:
we began with students discussing questions from the big-box of questions, a student-created collection of review questions. after that, students read a collection of primary & secondary sources (below) related to one of four laws (the missouri compromise, the compromise of 1850, the kansas nebraska act, and the dred scott decision). next, students met in expert groups and made a poster to share what they learned with their classmates, and we finished with a gallery walk of those posters.
