letters home

we began class with a discussion of adjectives and verbs associated with the carlisle school (e.g. difficult, challenging, depressing & work, marching). we then discussed the scoring expectations for the no-stakes quiz from last friday, and reviewed the most frequently misunderstood facts from that quiz. then, we discussed the expectations for the letter home assessment (below) before students had five minutes to prepare their writing by talking with their desk group, and had about fifteen minutes to begin writing their letters.
