re-quiz & expectations

summary:
we began by discussing what it would be like to be forced to live without the people and things that make up your community and identity, like the students at native american boarding schools were made to do. after that, we discussed quiz-taking procedures & expectations, and then took another crack at the pre-encounter geography quiz. then, we scored the quizzes, and converted those results into mastery scores. on the whole, students did great - lots of 4s! most often, students who did not do well had simply memorized the names of the nations in the order they were in on the study guide, and did not memorize where they actually were on the map. we finished with a little guided freewrite about parental goals and expectations, which we will return to on tuesday as we develop some personal goals for social studies class.

homework:
each one teach one (due 11/12) Teach a family member about Carlisle, have them summarize what they learned, ask 1+ question, and sign.
